Located on the northeast side of Colorado Springs, the Powers corridor is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in the city. It is a family-friendly area in which you will find relatively new homes with plenty of shopping and dining, schools, and health care facilities nearby. The Airplane Restaurant celebrates the city's intimate, longstanding relationship with aviation, utilizing as its centerpiece a Boeing KC-97 tanker aircraft. Ironically the KC-97's main duty in the friendly skies was to refuel other aircraft. Now in retirement, the plane is still used to refuel, providing authentic ambiance to more than 42 hungry humans. Other locally-owned eateries include Jose Muldoon's, Schnitzel Fritz, Dion's, and the Old German Bakery.

The Powers Corridor is home to a plethora of lively restaurants popular throughout the country, including Tucano's Brazilian Grill, Texas Roadhouse, Panera Bread, Olive Garden, and Rock Bottom Brewery.

The City of Colorado Springs manages and maintains approximately 9,000 acres of parkland and recreational sports complexes. There are 136 neighborhood parks, eight community parks, seven regional parks, and five sports complexes within the city's borders.

There are several highways and byways convenient to commuters in The Springs, including Interstate 25, which runs north and south the entire length of the state of Colorado, and US Highway 24, which runs east and west, beginning in the Rocky Mountain town of Minturn, running through Colorado Springs, and winding up near the Kansas border, where it connects with Interstate 70. Powers Boulevard itself is a convenient thoroughfare making north-south travel in Colorado Springs easy and fast. The city plans to expand the northern end of Powers Boulevard, taking it directly to I-25, reducing commute time and increasing convenience for residents of this area.

Other modes of transportation in and near the city include the Mountain Metro bus system, the Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, and Denver International Airport.
