Fountain, Colorado Real Estate and Information

Fountain, Colorado, is a city in El Paso County, residing about 30 miles north of Pueblo and 10 miles south of Colorado Springs, on the north-south corridor of Interstate 25 in the southeastern portion of the state. Founded in 1859 with roots steeped in railroad shipping and ranching, Fountain was named after Fountain Creek, which flows through the city. It was officially incorporated in 1903 and today is home to more than 25,800 residents.

The city is what the state of Colorado defines as a Home Rule Municipality, meaning it is self governing, with its own water and electric utilities and the power to determine its form of government. Fountain's mayor and six-member city council work together with commissions and advisory boards to govern the city, while its city manager administers all its various departments.

Shopping and Dining

Fountain residents enjoy a wealth of shopping and dining options. They are only about 10 miles from Colorado Springs and shopping malls like Chapel Hills Mall, The Citadel and The Promenade Shops at Briargate.
